Happy 2011!
I have two very exciting projects starting this week; Ave of the Americas and Bite the Apple.
Monday starts with Bite the Apple for the Adaptions for the Stage Workshop at The Directors Company. It is the preliminary meeting between myself, Linda (the playwright), Rob (the playwright and director for the 2nd project), and Nagle Jackson (the head of the workshop). I will just be stopping by to introduce myself and touch base with Linda.
Tuesday we jump into design meetings and rehearsals for Ave of the Americas by Martin Blank. I am still missing a set designer but have a fabulous Sound Designer and Lighting Designer on board, I'm confident the set will fall into place. We have a stellar cast and producers. It's always tough looking at a schedule for a show like this. We only have 30 hours of rehearsal. Tomorrow I am taking the day to prep for our first rehearsal; research images, sounds, ideas, thoughts, and make the rehearsal plot. It's going to be a whirlwind but a great time.
Ongoing this month are my fellowship applications. I am trying to apply to at least 10 programs in 2011, some of them will be due in February. I have blocked off several hours each week dedicated to writing and research, I should have one application done by the end of this first week-or at least the first draft.
I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season. May 2011 bring you joy.
